AA Insurance has revealed that personal health items such as glasses and hearing aids are some of the everyday items that are prone to being misplaced. Hearing aids are a relatively cheap investment with huge benefits, but it makes sense to look after them as much as possible and prevent them from being misplaced, as this could save you a great deal of money and hassle in the future. Good quality hearing aids can be found online at a range of hearing specialists such as Amplifon Hearing Specialists, and are much better than cheaper alternatives as they tend to last longer and save you money on replacement hearing aids down the line.
The research conducted by the insurer in New Zealand found that the average claim for a lost hearing aid was $4,194 – almost five times the amount for the average claim of a camera ($805). The results were based on claims figures between June 2010 and May 2011.
Genetics are a main cause of hearing loss for a number of individuals in the UK and so aural deterioration cannot always be prevented. However, regular hearing tests are essential for maintaining your aural health in other cases and along with looking after your ears, can potentially save you money on medical bills in the future.
